The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College-Atlanta Chapter is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization of Spelman College alumnae who live in the metropolitan Atlanta area.  The organization supports Spelman College, a historically black college for women through financial gifts, student recruitment, sisterhood, partnership building, community service, and recognition of Spelman women.

The Alumnae Association began May 19, 1892.  The NAASC was incorporated in 1976.  The Atlanta chapter was the first organized chapter in 1914 in Atlanta, GA.  The Atlanta chapter seeks to reach the more than 6,000 alumnae who live in the Atlanta area through networking opportunities and membership meetings.  Chapter meetings emphasize speakers who encourage self improvement and projects deemed to be of special concern to the African American community.

The chapter awards a tuition scholarship annually to a young woman who is a graduating high school senior who resides in Atlanta.  The scholarship is based on need, community service and academic achievement.  The scholarship begins with a 25% contribution during the student’s freshman year, increasing by 25% each year that she remains eligible for the scholarship; thus providing 100% of her tuition during her senior year.
