Scholarship Support

Giving to benefit the NAASC Atlanta Chapter local Scholarship

The Atlanta Chapter is committed to supporting women who, by enrolling at Spelman, have made “a choice to change the world.” The chapter provides two types of scholarships; current use and endowed. One of the major ways that the Atlanta Chapter has consistently supported the College has been through the awarding of scholarships to students from Metropolitan Atlanta. Since launching the Annual Scholarship Brunch in 1977, the Atlanta Chapter has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to thirty (30) students. Of this number, nine received scholarships for the four years at Spelman. In 1977, the cost of tuition for one year was $1,800; for the current year (2019-2020), the cost of tuition and fees exceeds $25,000.

Giving to benefit the NAASC Atlanta Chapter Endowed Scholarship

The NAASC Atlanta Chapter created an endowed scholarship fund with a particular goal for the 100th anniversary–to raise $100,000. The endowed scholarship is sponsored by the NAASC Atlanta Chapter, and administered by Spelman College. Currently, the chapter has raised over $89,000 toward its goal.

All scholarship donations are tax-deductible. Endowed contributions count toward your annual class gift and the EVERY WOMAN… EVERY YEAR alumnae-giving campaign.
